Eliminate paper junkmail with your smartphone

PaperKarmaIs your mailbox overrun with catalogs, sales ads, postcards and coupons? One can feel a little outnumbered when fighting the war on junkmail. Fortunately, there’s an app called PaperKarma that offers a peaceful solution.

Your first order of business in going paperless is to limit the amount of paper that enters your house. PaperKarma does just that. Download this app to your smartphone (available for iPhone, Windows and Android phones) and scan the offending junkmail with your smartphone’s camera. PaperKarma uses that photo to recognize the piece of mail, contact the company and unsubscribe you. Brilliant!

Collect your paper junk mail this week and scan your little heart out. Within weeks you’ll see a reduction to the incoming paper in your mailbox. The trees and your mailman will no longer shun your hugs. Watch this week’s Twirl to learn more about how PaperKarma works.
